Monthly newsletter - September 2009

Welcome to the 1st edition of Burton Clinic newsletter!

We aim to keep you informed of changes and update you with our latest service improvements.

Environment

Since opening in 1994, our inpatient facility has provided bright, spacious and comfortable en-suite accommodation.

During the coming months, we are developing plans and designs to enable a major upgrade programme, including new styling and suite refurbishment.

We will of course aim to keep disruption to a minimum, ensuring services remain available during this time, continuing to support patient needs.

Pre admission services

New - 5 day service

We have improved access to our Pre-operative Assessment clinics. We can now offer you a choice of appointment days and times, ensuring you are well prepared for your admission to hospital.

We now have a dedicated nurse, Debbie Broughton, who will arrange your appointment and provide ward orientation prior to your admission.

Chauffeur services*

Travelling to hospital can be stressful - our professional chauffuer service provides collect from home and return jouney on discharge. We are happy to arrange this for you or provide contact details for you to arrange directly.

 Infection control

Here at Burton Clinic we are proud of our attention to detail and work tirelessly to ensure that patients are kept safe.

We have again achieved 100% compliance in maintaining hand hygiene, rigourously monitored by the Infection Control Team at Queen's Hospital.

Our Infection Control Lead is a Registered General Nurse, who works with the team of Consultants, nurses and carers to ensure that hand hygiene is a key priority.

In addition Jo Merrett promotes the "Cleanyourhands" campaign tirelessly in both the Outpatient and Ward environment, with easy access to patient information and poster displays.
