Directions to Queen's Hospital, Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust


Queen's Hospital, Burton is centrally located with easy access from all parts of the Midlands.

Simply follow the directions from your departure point and follow the 'Hospital signs' that are located in and around the outskirts of the town.

From the South M40 North M40 After Junction 16 join M42 North (3A) towards Birmingham / Nottingham. At Junction 11 join A444 towards Burton upon Trent. When you reach Burton follow signs to Hospital.

 

From the South West  M5 North M5  At Junction 4A join M42 North towards Birmingham/Nottingham. At Junction 11 join A444 towards Burton upon Trent
When you reach Burton follow signs to Hospital. 

 

From the South East M1 North M1 At junction 24 join A50 North towards Stoke on Trent
After approx 12 miles exit left onto A38 Burton on Trent. When you reach exit to A5121 follow signs to hospital.

 

From the North East  M1 South M1 At junction 28 join A38 towards Derby.
Follow A38 around Derby for Burton on Trent. When you reach exit to A5121 follow signs to hospital.

 

From the North West  M6 South M6 At junction 15 exit onto A500 Stoke on Trent
After about 2 miles slip road to A50 South. Follow A50 south exit onto A511 for Tutbury and Burton on Trent.
When you reach Burton follow signs to Hospital. 

Directions to get to Burton Clinic

When arriving at The Main entrance walk straight ahead, through the glass annex, walk past the WRVS coffee shop on your left, turning right at the Help Desk and proceed past the WRVS Newsagency, keeping on your left, walk straight ahead, you will see the overhead signs to

  • Orthopaedic Wards 19 & 20
  • Burton Clinic

Burton Clinic Out patient Department is on the ground floor, take the second turn on your right, having past the cashpoint machine on your left.

 

Burton Clinic In patient facility is on the 3rd floor (internally the ward is referred to as Ward 30) above wards 19 and 20. Take the elevator, which is the third turn on the right past the cashpoint machine.

 

Parking at the hospital

We encourage patients and visitors to use public transport wherever possible, car parking spaces on the Queen's Hospital site are limited and not guaranteed. We politely request that you do not bring your car to the hospital if you are able to get here by other means.

 

If you do travel by car, we advise that you allow extra time to park. When you arrive at the main car park, please take a ticket and pay as you leave the Hospital. The Pay Machines in the main reception areas accept coins and notes and do give change.

If you are visiting the Outwoods Site (Wards 41,42,43; Diabetic Clinic; Genito Urinary Clinic; Stroke Ward) a Pay on Exit at the barrier, parking scheme is operated.

 

We have car park assistants who make regular patrols and who will help with any car parking enquiries. There is an intercom at each exit barrier which is linked to the car park office.

Additional  Parking Information

Patients and people visiting family or friends in hospital are now able to buy a weekly parking pass for £8, which allows unlimited parking during the week or alternatively, a monthly ticket for £25.

 

The standard car parking rates remain the same.

 

Free car parking remains available for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and for bereaved relatives.

 

The new car parking passes will be available from the car park office, located in the Portacabin opposite the entrance to the main car park, during the following opening hours 07.00 to 21.00 hours, Monday to Sunday.

This replaces the previous process of issuing concessionary rates through an application form. With immediate effect concessions using these forms will not be accepted by the parking office.
